pandiculation

Henry thought that commenting on the apparently contagious nature of pandiculation would make him seem more attractive to his date.  He realised the flaw in his plan when Sarah blanched and looked queasy.  Despite his explanation that he simply meant yawning was catchy, Sarah was still not willing to touch him in case she caught whatever it was he had.

pandiculation

(noun) yawning and stretching as when first waking up

The dragon moved again. It snorted and coughed, incinerating a patch of shrubbery, opened its eyes and blinked a few times. From behind the tree line, Harko watched with fascination as it stretched first one wing, then the other, lapsing into an extended pandiculation routine that reminded of nothing so much as his cat waking from a nap.

agroof

Blossom stood unsteadily on her feet, her legs bandy and podgy, her nappy peeking out from under her Baby Gap dress with a giraffe's head emerging from the pocket. Her mother secretly looked out through her yummy mummy fringe to make sure the other mothers were looking, then let go of Blossom's hands.
Proud mother expected Blossom to take a few tottering steps like she did at home yesterday, well ahead of her age group, but instead, Blossom looked up, giggled and, to her mother's mortification, fell agroof.

agroof

With a last admiring glance to the spandexed lines of his biceps, he pulls down his mask. It feels good. The city sprawls below him, unconscious of its own need, unaware of the clean cut of its saviour's cape. Taser Man focuses his mind, relaxes his breathing and explodes into a power sprint! He shoots over the edge of the old reservoir, banks left and hits the ground agroof.

agroof

to fall flat on one's face

John was not particularly amused when the the new next door neighbour pointed out that, as he fell off his ladder and made contact with the ground, the sound of him being winded was the same as his action: agroof.  He mustered up as much dignity as he could, picked a piece of sod out of his nose and wheezed "whatever" before limping inside to nurse his wounds and his pride.

steatopygic

I can assure you, Ambassador, Commander Data's remark about "unfortunate steatopygic lines" was in reference to the design of the USS Camilla, first of the new T. Rex Class vessels known for their bulky trans-warp drive assembly. It was most certainly not aimed at Her Ladyship who shares the same charming name.

steatopygic

Filling in the "Ideal partner" part of his dating profile, Mervin added "should not be steatopygic", knowing that this would attract a svelte lady with a wide vocabulary, rather than a wide lady with a svelte vocabulary. At the very least, it could attract someone with a propensity for looking words up in a dictionary.

steatopygic

Realising that he had to aim for his target audience, Sir Mix-A-Lot revised the lyrics of his song, which were originally along the lines of : "I have an affinity for steatopygic body types, I cannot tell an untruth".

steatopygic

Having an extreme accumulation of fat on the buttocks.

Neville was quite chuffed with his new paramour and thought it going quite well. Until, one evening as they dressed for dinner, she uttered the dreaded words "Do these jeans make me look steatopygic?"

Paraph

The Paraph lay very still on the page, a bastion of individuality.  It contemplated its origins at the delicate hands of the effeminate accountant, the thought and care that had created its form.  In none of its contemplations had it ever considered the possible existence of a doppelganger.

paraph

Reginald Augustus Gaylord Huntington the Eighteenth approached the end of his signature with some trepidation. The paraph was coming up... and it was no idle adornment. It went well beyond mere decoration and pushed, imbued with generations of steadfast Huntington determination, well into the realm of utility, of challenge, some would say paranoia, even. Transmitted from father to son for centuries, wrestled from the very foundations of Anglo-Saxon literacy, it bloomed and billowed, surged, heaved and obliterated all that was not pure iron Huntington will. It wracked lesser nerves, spasmed lesser hands and snaked up trembling arms to cow lesser hearts. Reginald breathed deeply, relaxed into the weight of the pure gold pen and became the Paraph...

paraph

a flourish after a signature, to prevent forgery.

Imogen gave a self-satisfied smirk as she looked at the credit card slip, not sure whether she was more pleased with her purchase of a gold garden gnome or her unusually effusive paraph, a new feature of her signature, now that she was a moneyed member of society, befitting a fancier signature than the scrawl she used to use.

camarilla

(noun) a (secret) clique that seeks power, usually through intrigue

Ten days after the Peabody camarilla set their plan in motion, the first two members of the emergency interim Black Orchid Flower Arranging Club steering committee crumbled and resigned.
