With hunched shoulders he -- orra John, as he thinks of himself -- pushes into wind, striding along the quay as if he had some definite goal in mind.

phocine

Larry walks over to the back of the truck with barely contained excitement.  Wait till the boys see his new phocine gear!  He's been itching to try out the chainsaw Gladys got him for Christmas, and only yesterday picked up his awesome hand-turned morningstar with platinum inlay detailing.  Life is sweet!

phocine

(adj) pertaining to seals.

In Lolita, the protagonist refers to Lolita's mother as phocine. However, this may be incorrect usage, since the definition is "relating to seals", not resembling them. Still, a lovely description.
