pother

(noun) (1) a commotion; a disturbance (2) a state of nervous activity; a fuss (3) a cloud of smoke or dust that chokes or smothers

From the pother emerged Super Knight, chain mail in disarray and scabbard askew, but with a satisfied grin in the shadows of his hood and a disoriented onion thief in each hand. A cheer lifted from the crowd and a few merchants grunted in a non-disapproving manner. Vegetative commerce was safe once again!
